Our contracts are based at Defence Establishments across the country and involve the delivery of a wide range of services.
Managing the allocation of rooms and issue of keys, through to servicing of rooms and all associated accommodation facilities eg. conference venues.
Air Support Services includes the provision of VIP Terminal facility operations, ground, passenger and cargo handling to Australian Defence Force aircraft, visiting foreign Defence approved aircraft and visiting Defence approved foreign Head of State aircraft.
SSDS regional call centres provide a single point of contact for the onsite management of accommodation, transport bookings, customer and client interaction for scheduled and non scheduled tasks, requests for information, urgent and unforeseen maintenance requests, minor work requests and breakdown/fault reporting on a 24 hour, 7 days per week basis.
Maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene, including infection control, whilst providing a reliable service to our diverse Defence customers.
We provide non-combat and combat clothing, military accoutrements and garment fitting and alteration services to the ADF and entitled members.
Expert environmental management striving to reduce the SSDS environmental footprint and provide project management services to fulfil Defence landscape managment and building sustainability requirements. SSDS manages the provision of operational services at Defence establishments. Services include: operation of energy management systems, sewerage and water treatment plants, HV & LV reticulated services, bore water installations and swimming pools. EOS incorporates inspection, testing and maintenance of training assets, range live fire target equipment, playground equipment, water reticulation systems and non-sewered toilet facilities.
SSDS delivers an encompassing program of heritage and environmental onsite consultancy services. Services include heritage evaluation and management planning services, environmental management systems review, development of environmental plans, conducting assessments, audits, statutory compliance reviews and peer reviews, natural resource evaluation, monitoring and management and a broad range of other consultancy services as required.
Professionally trained fire fighting and fire prevention teams are responsible for the protection of rural, range, airport, aircraft and commercial assets from fires. Many of our Firefighters are members of their local rural fire service and SSDS is proud of their professionalism and dedication to this vital service.
SSDS manages the maintenance requirements of plant and equipment encompassing:
GEWM includes planned and reactive maintenance works to the estate not covered under Fixed Plant and Equipment. In general, GEWM relates to structural assets. GEWM tasks range from significant capital works projects to routine building maintenance activity. Works are delivered by sub-contractors on a quote and order basis or through a formal tender process.
SSDS performs a wide range of horticultural maintenance services including turf management, garden bed maintenance, sports turf maintenance, environmental maintenance projects, grounds cleaning, landscape construction projects, environmental pest control and horticultural bedding displays.
We maintain thousands of hectares of grounds assets including, airfields, historic homesteads, RAAF operations headquarters, sports facilities and environmental reserves and ranges.
Our professional, customer service focused hospitality staff provide food, beverage and labour management as well as mess and wardroom management services at various Defence establishments across Australia.
Professional Laundry Services for military clothing and equipment are part of the total package we offer our Defence customer.
Planned and unforseen control of pest and vemin in conjunction with professional subcontractors.
SSDS manages POL compounds and 'service stations'. This includes fuel testing and refuelling, aircraft fuel delivery, remote site aircraft refuelling and the management of large bulk storage fuel facilities.
Management, operation and maintenance of ranges, range bookings and safety coordination and live firing field training areas, small arms and artillery including the use of ammunition, pyrotechnics, air support and air space coordination.
With qualified Lifeguards and Fitness Instructors, SSDS manages and maintains sporting facilities including gymnasiums, tennis courts, swimming pools and sporting fields. We also maintain pools and a wide range of sporting equipment.
SSDS operates a number of remote sites for the ADF. Our responsibilities are very diverse, from suppling all domestic services to going above and beyond our contract requirements to support the local community in housing and domestic services.

SSDS is responsible for the operation and management of a range of stores functions. These include:
Providing drivers and vehicles for VIP and Limousine services, coach and bus transfers, mail runs, ration and stores delivery, couriers, patient transfers and route schedule services. SSDS manages both Defence and SSDS fleet vehicles including all service and maintenance requirements and the control of vehicle changeovers.
SSDS works with a range of waste management companies to provide an innovative waste management service. This service aims to accurately report the weight of waste produced, manage projects to reduce waste to landfill, safely handle and dispose of hazardous wastes and to increase the awareness of the 'reduce, reuse and recycle' principle.
