Reward & Recognition
Star Performers is the SSDS Employee Reward and Recognition program. 
We believe that our people are our greatest asset and should be rewarded and recognised for the oustanding work they do every day.
Employees can be nominated for their achievements in four categories.
Customer Service
- Consistent high quality service
- Going above and beyond everyday service
Innovation & Initiative
- New ideas that save time and money
- Initiatives that improve the work environment
Community & Environment
- Outstanding work in the community
- Fundraising
- Initiatives that benefit the wider community
Health & Safety
- Improvements in the health and well being of employees and the customer
- Safety initiatives in the workplace
How the program works
Employees may be nominated as an individual or a team, by their colleagues, managers or our Defence customer. A winner in each category is then chosen to receive a quarterly award of $100 for individuals and $200 for a team award.
Quarterly winners are then eligible to win the annual award of $1000 for an individual and $2000 for the team award. Winners receive their awards at an annual Gala Dinner.
Serco Pulse Awards
All SSDS quarterly winners are also eligible to be nominated in the Serco Pulse Awards, the reward and recognition program of our parent company, Serco.
Serco Pulse Award winners are recognised each year at a gala event in the UK. Since the launch of the program in 2007, three SSDS employees have won awards and have travelled to London to accept them.
2009 Winners
In 2009, over 500 outstanding individuals and teams were nominated for Star Performers awards.
From these, 48 were chosen to receive quarterly awards.
A winner was then chosen in each category and presented with their awards at this year's gala dinner at the beautiful Byron at Byron Resort & Spa, Byron Bay.
