About us

Serco Sodexo Defence Services (SSDS) is a dedicated prime contractor to the Australian Defence Organisation. We pride ourselves on service excellence to all our Defence clients through commitment to our Vision, Mission and Values and our Credo of Respect, Leadership, Recognition and Honour. 

SSDS is a joint venture company formed in 1993 between two global service support companies: Serco - an international service company that improves services by managing people, processes, technology and assets more effectively and Sodexo - a world leader in on site service and motivation solutions.

SSDS now has over 15 years experience providing support services to Defence. We have also placed consistently in the top 12 Defence contractors for the last eight years. As well as employing over 2900 Australians, SSDS engages hundreds of small business to assist with the provision of supplies and services at Defence sites across Australia.
